What this is

An area of engineering work, not a product line.

We take on work for businesses whose equipment needs to be measured, controlled or connected. The goal is simple to state: the software that runs the business should know what the equipment is doing, and be able to act on it.

An IoT project spans hardware, firmware, connectivity and software, and it works only when every part works with the others. We treat it as one system from the start.

Areas of work

From the sensor to the software.

Why it matters

Equipment that software can see is equipment a business can manage.

Much of the world’s useful equipment still works in isolation: it runs, but nothing records how, and nothing tells anyone when it needs attention. Connecting it turns guesswork into records, and records into decisions.

Connected equipment also brings new responsibilities. Every device that joins a network is a device that has to be trusted. Quorum was founded by a CISSP-certified infrastructure architect and cloud security engineer, and that background shapes how we connect things.

Our drone design work often meets the same questions, when an aircraft has to report back to the systems around it, and so does our work in fulfillment automation.

What we build

Other areas of work

  • Software

A gemology platform that covers the whole job: assessment, valuation, estimates, workflow and a mobile lab. It runs in your own cloud account, so your data and client records stay with you.

  • Software

Platforms that take routine work off skilled people, so their time goes to the decisions that need them.

  • Robotics and engineering

Concept and engineering work on unmanned aircraft: airframes, propulsion and materials.

  • Robotics and engineering

An area of development: robotics, controls and software for picking, packing and moving goods.
